1. Pomerene Health Talk
A Health Talk focusing on breast cancer will be held at Pomerene Hospital on Monday, April 28.

Where: Pomerene Hospital Auditorium, 981 Wooster Road, Millersburg
What: Join Sabrina Shilad MD, FACS, assistant medical director of various cancer programs and oncologist at Aultman Hospital, as she leads a conversation about updates in breast cancer prevention, screening and treatment. Learn to identify the risk factors, the guidelines for mammograms and breast health, about screenings and how and when to screen, understanding treatment options and explore realistic lifestyle modifications.

2. Holmes County Job Expo
When: Noon-3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29
Where: Harvest Ridge Holmes County Fairgrounds, 8880 State Route 39, Millersburg
What: The Holmes County OhioMeansJobs Center will offfer help with writing resumes, interviewing skills and knowing what to wear and how to introduce yourself at an interview. Nicole Lepley and Lisa VanSickle will be the presenters.

3. National Day of Prayer
When: Noon Thursday, May 1
Where: American Legion Post 49, Black Drive, Doylestown
What: The Doylestown American Legion Post 407 and the Doylestown Lion’s Club will host the National Day of Prayer service at the Post, 49 Black Drive. The community is invited to come together in prayer for the community and nation. The speaker will be Beth Weaver, executive director, Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County.

4. Spring Plant Sale
A Spring Plant Sale will be held at Walnut Creek Cheese & Market through May 17.
When: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, April 28-May 17
Where: Walnut Creek Cheese & Market, 2641 State Route 39, Walnut Creek
What: There will be everything from ferns to herbs to hanging baskets to planters, and many more.

5. Putt for a Cure
Pleasant Hill Golf Course in Perrysville will host a Putt for a Cure golf outing on Sunday, May 4.
When: 9:45 a.m. Sunday, May. 4
Where: Pleasant Hill Golf Course, 4089 Pleasant Hill Road., Perrysville
What: The event is a two-person fundraising scramble to benefit community cancer warriors. To register to play or show support for the event, call 740-501-1944.
Cost: $60 per golfer
