Those higher snowfall rates have led to lower visibility and slippery conditions.
The worst time to travel will be between now and about 4 p.m. Thursday.
Snowfall intensity will continue to lighten up in the afternoon from west to east with much lighter snowfall rates by the time the Thursday evening commute begins.
There might still be some pockets of light sleet and freezing drizzle through 8 p.m., which could create some additional slick spots.
Travel should largely improve by Friday morning with conditions drying out.
